THE WORLD'S MOST EFFECTIVE
MIXER FOR ADHESIVES AND SEALANTS
Resodyn provides ResonantAcoustic® Mixers (RAM) to manufacturers of resin systems for the Aerospace and Defense Industries and many others. RAM rapidly and thoroughly mixes polymers, fillers, curing agents, and additives under controlled temperature 10x to 100x faster than traditional blenders.
The RAM process allows reliable repeatability and order of magnitude faster processing with uniform dispersion of materials even when materials are shear sensitive or have high viscosity. The shortened mix times result in lower mix temperatures and extended pot life.
The RAM systems are used for challenging mixing applications in a broad range of commercial manufacturing sites worldwide. RAM systems are bladeless and mixing occurs within a closed mixing vessel, which prevents cross contamination and provides for ease of cleanup. Mixing of adhesives in adhesive and sealant application vessels (such as a SEMCO tube) have been shown to be effective. RAM is the perfect mixer for adhesives and sealants.
Applications for RAM products in the Adhesives & Sealants (Aerospace and Defense) Industry are inclusive of:
- Advanced Ceramic Components
- Epoxies
- Filled Resins
- Polyimide Films
- Pre-ceramic Polymers
- Rocket Insulation
- Silicones
- Specialty Sealants
- Structural Adhesives
- Syntactic Foams

INDUSTRY EXPERT
TESTIMONIALS
“…We were using reciprocal shakers to dissolve product we sampled off one of our high-volume production lines, and it was taking four hours just to prep the material for testing. Once we started using the LabRAM, it cut that time from four hours down to 20 minutes.”
- Global Synthetic Rubber Manufacturer
“...In laboratory-scale sensitivity testing, RAM materials were more homogenous with similar/slightly lower sensitivity than mix-muller produced materials. . .”
- SERDP Project WP-2631, 2020
“projected benefits of a production-scale RAM process may result in significant increases to overall throughput, labor cost reduction of 61-96%, and a reduction in acetone used for cleanup operations by over 99%...”

Videos on Adhesives and Sealants Mixing
Loaded Polymer Blending in Less than 3 Minutes!
To illustrate a heavily loaded polymer blend, two materials of very different particle sizes are blended with a polymer surrogate. This footage documents the nature of the material blending and integration into a heavily loaded (~85%) polymer based paste in just over 2 minutes. The use of RAM™ technology is ideally suited for loading of solids into polymers and mixing to a high rate of dispersion and consistent viscosity throughout the blend.
Polymer and Viscous Liquid Blending in 4 Seconds!
Many polymer based processing applications require additional ingredients for performance or coloration. To illustrate RAM’s ability to quickly and thoroughly mix ingredients of different characteristics, 2.5 grams of food coloring was blended with 235 grams of a polymer surrogate. The final mixture shows the liquid fully dispersed within the polymer due to the unique and effective mixing action captured in the high speed footage.

“... ResoantAcoustic® Mixing technology allows to obtain a better quality of the final mixtures in a reduced amount of time. Impacts on the mechanical, topographical and thermal properties of an epoxy inhibitor have been studied and the results show a significant decrease of the relative standard deviation of the ultimate tensile strength and the elongation at fracture when using the LabRAM mixer.”

Solventless mixing process for coating pharmaceutical ingredients
The present invention is a solventless method of producing polymer coated active pharmaceutical ingredient that is taste-masked and may be released in relatively short time. It employs high energy vibrations or acoustic mixing of API particles, water soluble coating material particles and hydrophobic polymer particles, with or without use of other pharmaceutically relevant powders as media. Additionally the method is capable of producing individually coated drug particles without agglomeration or the long drying times associated with solvent based coating methods.
